Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised edelweiss, propeller, and anchor, symbolizing the Gebirgsjger, Luftwaffe, and Kriegsmarine, respectively, flanked by a date of 1940, topped by an inscription of NARVIK and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, affixed with all reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field grey wool liner indicating Heer
